The history of the use of the components that make up TARLIK MAX CREAM dates back more than two centuries. Coal tar was first discovered in 1665, and for medical purposes it began to be used since the 1800s. Today, coal tar is included in the list of essential medicines of the World Health Organization (WHO). And its use is also approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Salicylic acid was first obtained from willow bark by the Italian chemist Raffaele Piria in 1838 and since then, due to its properties, it has been widely and successfully used in dermatology and cosmetology. Today it is difficult to imagine the treatment of some skin diseases without salicylic acid. There are probably not many people who have not heard about the use of salicylic acid for acne since adolescence. Salicylic acid can also be used to treat psoriasis and seborrheic dermatitis, and is especially effective in combination with coal tar. Studies show that a 12-week course of coal tar in combination with salicylic acid is as effective in plaque psoriasis as the drugs calcipotriol and betamethasone.
